Isaiah 61 verse 1 states,
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”
ISAIAH 61:1
The prophet Isaiah was prophesying about the ministry of Jesus and the reason for Him to come to the World. They include:
- To preach the good news (Gospel) to the poor (in spirit)
- To heal the broken hearted
- To proclaim liberty to the captives
- To bring freedom to the prisoners
I’m going to talk about the second point – to heal the broken hearted
You might ask what the meaning of the broken hearted is?
There are certain Reasons for a broken heartedness which are:
- A sudden death of a family member or a close one by an accident, suicide, sickness, or murder.
- An Unexpected bankruptcy, job loss, business loss and a sudden divorce
- Unfaithful relationship, cheating and betrayal
- Rejection and persecution
- Separation and a verbal, physical or a sexual abuse
Results of broken heartedness are:
- Anger and bad temper
- Revenge
- Unforgiveness
- Self-isolation, selfishness & competition
- Gossip & hatred
- Depression
- Jealousy
- Suicide
- Migraine and mental illness
- Lack of sleep
Jesus didn’t just come to the World to save or heal the people. Bible says He came to heal the BROKEN HEARTED.
Have you ever experienced heart brokenness in your life?
Have you been healed from that brokenness?
Medical Science is not able to heal a broken-hearted person.
Because the wounds are not on the flesh but it’s in the soul.
Jesus is able to heal any heart brokenness.
Seek the healing through JESUS and you can find it.
